Roger Clarence Watkins

Roger Clarence Watkins, 76, of Lerona, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at his home. Born on January 9, 1945, he was a son of the Ocie Taylor Watkins of Greenbrier County, WV, and the late Frank Buford Watkins, Sr. He was a retired construction worker and was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Minister Frank Watkins, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ocie Watkins who is almost 100 years old; loving wife, Brenda Lou Coffey Watkins of 51 years; 3 sons, Gary (Tina) Watkins, Pat (Robin) Watkins and Aaron Watkins of the home; grandsons, Brian Watkins, Corey (Aubrey) Watkins; granddaughters, Monica (Shawn) Harman, Sarah Moses, Kimberly Watkins; Amanda (Mandy Pandy) and Greg Butler, Kristen (Kitten) and husband Jamie Farley who was by his side until the end; one special “Sissy” Chloe Tiller and 14 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Amedysis Hospice for their special love and care shown to Roger. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Stanley Metz and Chaplain C.T. Lilly officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Clarence Dove, Charger Wiley, Harold Waldron, Boss Foley, Jamie Farley, JD Woodrum, and Corey Watkins will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Foley, Alec and Austin Farley, Bryce Watkins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s.
