Roger Lee Puckett, Sr., 69, of Lorton Lick Road Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, West Virginia. Roger was born on March 12, 1948 in Welch, West Virginia to the late William Lee Puckett and Martha Gray Puckett. Roger was a retired coal miner and Long Distance truck driver. Roger served his country proudly in the United Sates Army. Roger had been a resident of Mercer County for the past 61 years. Roger loved vacations with his family and riding his Harley Davidson motor cycle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Danny Puckett. Survivors include his wife Ethel Harman Puckett of the home; two sons Roger L. Puckett, Jr. and wife Sherri of Rock, West Virginia and Billy J. Puckett and wife April of Rock, West Virginia. One brother Darrell Puckett of Lebanon, Virginia and two sisters Linda Branscom and husband Ross of Bluefield, West Virginia and Wanda Lee and husband Roger of Hillsville, Virginia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will he held on Friday, June 02, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, West Virginia with Rev. Eddie Mabe and Rev. Wayne Sanders officiating the service. Burial will take place at a later date in Shillings Cemetery in Rock, West Virginia.
