Roger Earl Lambert,72, of Bluefield, West Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at his home. He was born in Keystone, West Virginia on October 25, 1947 to the late Clyde Lambert Sr. and Sally (Williams) Lambert.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Roger was known for his faith and strength in the Lord. Along with his family, most important to Roger was his relationship with Christ, and he never failed to proclaim the good news of the gospel. Those who knew him, never left his presence without a testimony of what the Lord meant to him. Always faithful to the body of Christ, Roger’s desire was to see those he loved to serve the Lord. We are forever thankful for Roger’s life and testimony as stated in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”
Having met the love of his life, Judy Rotenberry Lambert, in 1968, they raised a family of four children over the course of a steadfast 51 years of marriage. Roger retired from Keystone Service Industries after having worked for 32 years in the mining industry. He was a member of United Mine Workers Association Local 6196 and Crozier Independent Baptist Church. In Roger’s retirement years, his greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he will be remembered for the memories, love, and guidance that he provided to each one of them.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Lambert Sr. and Sally (Williams) Lambert; brother, Clyde Lambert Jr.; sisters, Nancy McClelland and Gladys Bell.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years, Judy Rotenberry Lambert; children, Steven (Melissa) Lambert of Bluefield, Bruce Lambert of Bluefield, Lori (Dennis) Lambert Smith of Bluefield, and Jason (Leslie) Lambert of Princeton; brothers Joe (Rosie) Lambert of Chilhowie, VA, Scott (Carol) Lambert of Athens, WV; sister, Barbara Lambert Taylor of Muncie, Indiana; grandchildren Meagan Lambert of the home, Corey Lambert, Tanleigh Smith, Tyler Lambert, Zachary Lambert, Trevor Smith, Lauren Lambert, and Chloe Lambert, and a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Harry Gregory and James Davidson.
