Roger Wayne “Red” Bailey, 78 of McComas, WV passed away at home with his family by his side on Friday, January 10, 2020.
Born on December 3, 1941 in McComas, he was the son of the late Charlie and Elsie Huffman Bailey. Roger was a resident of McComas his whole life. He was a graduate of McComas High School. After high school he worked in the mines for a short period of time. Roger loved sports, he played on local softball teams for several years, he also had a passion for dancing. He loved college ball and was a WV Mountaineer Fan. He looked forward to summer every year so he could put a garden out.
In addition to his parent, he was proceeded in death by his brother Jerry D Bailey.
Survivors include his daughter Stacey Bailey and fiancé Timothy Sparks of Montcalm, WV. Granddaughters Kellie Dobbins and Husband Drew of Mount Olive, WV; Alexandria Hubbard of Bluefield, WV; four great-grandchildren, Karleigh Brooke, Emily Hope, Easton Andrew and Levi Matthew Dobbins.
In lieu of flowers being purchased a donation to the local animal shelter or Second Chance for Cats would make Roger happy because he was an animal lover.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 2:45 PM at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Drew Dobbins, Timothy Sparks, Timmy Sparks, Matthew Sparks, Chris Smith, and James Kennett.
Friends may call prior to services, from 1:30-2:30 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
