Robert Junior Parks, Sr.

Robert Junior "Bob" Parks, Sr., age 84, of Anawalt, WV died on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.Born on September 5, 1933, in Anawalt, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Ada E. Collins Parks. He was a lifelong resident of Anawalt and was a retired coal miner from Consol Coal Company for 5 years and for US Steel for 30 years. He was a UMWA member. He was also a member of the Conklintown Church of God.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Ann Mallory Parks and a son, Brian Keith Parks.Survivors include: Sons: Robert J. Parks, Jr. and wife Cindy of Bluewell, WV, Joseph Parks and wife Ronnie of Anawalt, WV; Daughters: Cindy Elizabeth Lucas and husband Butch of Martinsburg, WV, Deborah Jane Ray of Anawalt, WV, Dianna White and husband Waylon of Hazard, KY. He was the last member of his immediate family. 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 2:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Jerry Graham officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell where his family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.The family is accepting online condolences at www.cravens-shires.com.Robert
