Robert Harold Barker, Sr.

Robert Harold Barker, Sr., 81, of Littlesburg Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his home.

Born on January 3, 1939 in Beckley, WV, he was a son of the late William Arthur and Beulah Anderson Barker. He was a member of the Brushfork Baptist Church and was a retired coal miner of 47 years. He was a member of the UMWA. He loved his family, fishing, hunting, Daisy (his dog), working in his garden and spending each and every day with the love of his life, Scarlett. He was the best husband, Dad and Pop in the world!                        

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Robert Harold Barker, Jr. and Timothy Lee Barker; a grandson, Gary Dalton; six brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Scarlett Taylor Barker; sons, Kevin (Karen) Barker of Bluefield, WV, Keith (Kathy) Barker, of Bluefield, WV, Robert (Jessie) Barker, III of Rock, WV, and Charles (Missy) Barker of Princeton, WV; daughters, Beulah Ann (Donnie) of Bland, VA, and Alisa (Glenn) Morrow of Cherryville, NC; grandchildren, Grandchildren, Andrew (Alicia), Caleb, Caitlin, Charles (Morgan), Frank (Britney), Candace, Daniel, Patrick, Abigail, Chris, MacKenzi, Levi, Kiara, Lilly, Peyton, Carmella, Jeremiah, Matthew (Brandi), Heather, Cody (Candice), Breanna (Brandon); great grandchildren, Anna, Amy, Jacob, Leah, Hailey, Landon, Riley, Aria, Nolan, Harlow, Scarlett, Fletcher, Davina, Nakoa, Hailey, Jeremy, Hailey, Axle, Jayden and Jordyn, Charity and Brody; sister, Greer (Rudy) Ortiz of Garland, TX; and sisters in law, Phyllis Barker of Bluefield, WV, and Evelyn Barker of Kansas City, MO.

Special thanks to Hospice Compassus and Dr. Joel Schor, MD, for the love and care extended to Harold and his family during this time.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Gary Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Daniel Barker, Patrick Barker, Caleb Dalton, Andrew Dalton, Charles Morrow, and Frank Morrow will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services, on Wednesday from 12:00-1:00, at the funeral home.
