Robert K. "Bud" Bailey

Robert K. “Bud” Bailey, 93, of Rock, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at his home.

Born on August 31, 1927 in Crumpler, he was a son of the late Fowler T. and Cordie Ruth Grose Bailey.  Bud had been a resident of Rock for 67 years and was a member of the Mt. Grove Baptist Church on Browning Lambert Mountain. He was a retired coal miner with 35 years at United Pocahontas Coal at Crumpler and was boss for 10 years. He was member of the UMWA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Rose Bailey; two sons, Ronald “Beetle” Bailey and David W. Bailey; and two brothers, Rouse Bailey and Jimmy K. Bailey.

Survivors include his sons, Jerry C. Bailey of Bluefield and Richard Z. Bailey and wife Vickie of Montcalm; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and a sister, Norene Thompson of Brevard, NC.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Wayne Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services, on Tuesday, from 9:30-10:30 AM at the funeral home.
