Richard Gene Eldreth

Richard Gene Eldreth, passed at his home with family, Monday, July 8, 2024. 

Born in Northfork to Garvie and Martha on July 27, 1942. Dickie was loved by many and was a man of few words. Richard was an army veteran and served as a police office in Northfork WV for over 35 years. Give him a fishing pole and a spot by the water and he was happy. 

He is survived by his two sons, Keith (Haley) and Kevin Brock of the home, and three daughters, Kathi Cowan (John) of Bluefield, Emma Rasi (David) of Princeton, and Ruthe Cowan (Chris) of Winston-Salem. Grandchildren David, Morgan, Rylee, Allyson, NeVaeh, Bella, Roman, and Bhodi. Great grandchildren, Katherine, Andrea, Dylan. He is also survived by two sisters Linda Lukah of Lincolnton, NC, Brenda Jones of Raleigh, NC, and one brother Bill Eldreth (Phyllis) of Roanoke, VA. Two nephews, Kent and Jimmy and, one niece Karen. He was deeply loved and will be missed very much.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call an hour prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
