Richard Alan Bishop

Richard Alan Bishop, 53 of Bluefield, WV, went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2020 following a brief illness.

Born on February 25, 1967 in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of Otis and Connie Bishop. He was a graduate of Princeton Senior High School and Bluefield State College. In earlier years Richard served in management positions with Petland, Stone & Thomas, Cinemas 8 and JC Penney.

Richard will be remembered for his “Big Loving Heart”. He was kind and compassionate, always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  He loved the Lord and was a faithful encourager touching countless lives throughout the years.

Those left to Cherish Richards Memory include his parents Otis and Connie Bishop, brother Kevin Bishop and wife Rhonda, sister Jennifer Tobia and husband Robby, nephews Nate Tobia and Drew Burnopp, great nephews Gabe and Austin Burnopp, friends, family and his beloved “fur babies”.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Southview Church located at 6671 New Hope Road, Bluefield, WV.  Pastor Jerry Novell will officiate. Friends may call prior to services on Saturday, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Southview Church.
