Rev. Larry Dwaine Buckland, Sr. , 77, of Welch, was called to his Heavenly home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 surround by his family at the Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV, where had had resided since June 2014.
Born on June 5, 1940 at Havaco, he was a son of the late William Herbert Buckland and Ruth Evans Buckland. He was a meat cutter for Kroger, Island Creek Company Stores, Davidson’s, Deskins, and Sav-A-Lot. He also worked as a coal lab technician and was an ordained minister thru the International Pentecostal Holiness Churches. He served as a previous pastor of the Big Four Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kimball. He was a US Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special aunt, Margaret Sorah.
He leaves behind his:

2 sisters: Sharon Shrewsbury of Princeton
Martha Boyd and husband Charles Scott Boyd
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Bishop Timothy Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Pallbearers will be: Estil Stuart Sorah, Ronnie Sorah, Mike Evans, Maynard Charles Evans, Russell Shrewsbury, Charles Scott (Chuck) Boyd. & Bryant Sorah. The VFW Post 1144 will conduct Military honors.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
