Rebecca Ann Short

Rebecca Ann (Shirley) Short, 59 of Coalwood, WV went to be with the Lord, Friday February 14, 2025, while being hospitalized and treated at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Becky (Rebecca) was surrounded by her two living children and a host of family and friends during passing. Within her passing she was able to donate her kidneys to go on and save lives after hers had ended. 

Rebecca Short was born on October 5, 1965, a daughter of the late Vannie Shirley and current Shirley Worthington.

In addition to her father, Rebecca was preceded in death by son William Short Jr., Grandmother Bessie Shelton, stepdad Willard Worthington, brother Lil Lee Worthington, sister Patty Sabo, and nephew Cory Hayes.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her loving mother Shirley Worthington of Coalwood, WV, Daughter Amanda Jones of Davy, WV, Son Brandon Short of Welch, WV, Sisters Deborah (Jake) Steele of Princeton, WV and Lisa Hayes of Indian Head, Maryland. Grandkids Isaac Kimble, Alia Short, Jayce Jones, and Lillian Short. Nieces and Nephews Cindy Steele and Steven Hayes. Along with great nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. With one special life long  friend Sherri Brooks. 

Rebecca’s wishes were to have her remains cremated and to forgo having a memorial service. Thus, no services will be held. If you wish to pay your respects or provide condolences, you may contact the family.

Revelation 21:4 says, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things has passed away”.
