Phillip Joe Lawless

Phillip Joe Lawless, 62, of Green Valley, WV, passed Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at his home. 

Born October 17, 1961, in Welch, WV, he was a son of Lois M. Cox Lawless and the late Phillip "John" Lawless. Phillip was a lifelong resident of the Mercer County area. He was a graduate of Princeton Senior High School. Philip retired from Patsy Trucking Co., working as a coal truck driver and mechanic. 

In addition to his father, Philip was preceded in death by his brother, John Houston Lawless, and sister Donna Gadd. 

Those left to cherish Phillip's memory are, his mother, Lois M. Cox Lawless, of Green Valley, WV; sons, Dustin J. Lawless and wife Mary Beth of Bluefield, WV, Christopher I. Lawless, of Bluefield, WV; daughter, Stormy J. Lawless, of Bluefield, WV, stepdaughter, Tesla S. Kelly of Princeton, WV; brother, Clovis B. Lawless and wife Lisa of Beaver, WV; grandchildren, Kruiz J. Lawless, Kobe J. Lawless, Hayden Dawn Patterson, Mark Tre Turner, and Milo Jo Turner; and step grandchildren, Kristopher A. Joyce, Senora Cosby, Talia Johnson, and Nadia Johnson. 

Funeral services will be held, Friday, October 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluefield, WV. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery in Princeton, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call an hour prior to service, from 12:00-1:00 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
