Philip Green, Jr., 93 of Welch, WV passed away on Oct. 4, 2022 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Philip Green, Sr. and Edith Green, on Sept. 18, 1929 in Wyoming County, WV. He was the proud owner and operator of Greens Refrigeration Co. He continued to work until late August when he became ill. He took pride in his work and he was always willing to help others. He was well known for his honesty, dedication to his customers and his strong work ethic. He also proudly served in the United States Army in the mid-fifties and was a long and faithful member of the Pen Ridge Old Regular Baptist Church located on Burke Mountain. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Agnes Marie Green. He is survived by his three children Michael Green and significant other Christa Edwards of Welch, Lisa Dawn Lewis and her husband Darrell Lewis of Rocky Mount, Va. and Regina Otey and her husband Bobby Otey of Rocky Mount, Va.; 3 grandchildren, Tyler Gibson, Sheena Courtney Neal and Raven Shianne Bailey. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Juanita Frazier and Winston Ray Green. Surviving siblings include: Lowell Green, Joe Green, Freda Brown, Betty Ann Warren, Helen Donnley, Patricia Green and Laura Hensley. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 12:00-1:30 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV with the funeral service to follow at 1:30PM with Elders Lonnie and Dennie Mullins and Elder John Caves officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluefield, WV with military honors being performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
