Oscar Roberts

Oscar Roberts, 85, of Rocky Gap, VA, formerly of McDowell County, WV, passed away, 12:00 AM Sunday morning, September 3, 2023 at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital. He was born July 15, 1938, in Estep Ridge, McDowell County, WV, to Nannie Roberts. He was married to Joetta Hagerman Roberts for 63 years.

He was preceded in death by son, Joseph Clifton “J.C.” Robert and mother Nannie Roberts.

Survivors include his wife, Joetta Roberts, of the home; daughter, Cathy Kennedy and Robin, of Knoxville, TN; Pamela Roberts of Rocky Gap, VA; Pamela Hope and Joey Begley of Rocky Gap, VA; Angela Renea and Brian Adkins of Bluefield, WV; Jonathan Williams and wife Heather; Nicky and Kevin McCutcheon; son, Girvis John Roberts of Huntington, WV grandchildren, Brittany Kennedy, Nikki Kennedy, Austin Kennedy, Tiphoney Kennedy; 10 great grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Laurel Fork Baptist Church in Rocky Gap, VA, with Minister Terry Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery in Bland, VA, with friends and family serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the church.
