Oral V. Christian

Oral "Buddy" Christian, 84, of Princeton (formerly of Raysal), West Virginia, passed away on July 8, 2024. Born on April 8, 1940, Buddy was known for his kind, funny, and creative spirit. He retired from his career as a coal miner, a job that reflected his hardworking nature.

Buddy was a devoted member of the Jesus Church of Bartley, where he found great comfort and community. His hobbies included playing the guitar and woodworking, activities that showcased his creative side and brought joy to those around him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Christian; his son, Jamie Christian; his daughters, Rose Christian-Elek and her husband John Elek, Dianna and her husband Ronald Myers, Lisa Christian, and Dani Christian; and his step-daughters, Sharon and her husband P-we Daniels, Karen and her husband Bryan Rowe, ten grandkids and three great-grandkids, his friends Ernie and his daughter Angel Baker, Dreama and Willis Bishop, Pam and John Tolliver. Buddy was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Christian, and father, Virgil Christian, four sisters and one brother.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on July 15, 2024, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV. The funeral home is assisting the family during this time, ensuring Buddy’s life is celebrated with the dignity and respect he deserves.
