Omer Burnett Glass

Omer Burnett Glass, Jr., 56 of Jennifer Ln. King, North Carolina formerly of Rock, WV passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at his residence. Omer was born on August 20, 1961 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Omer Burnett Glass Sr. and Mary Magdalene Quesenberry Glass. Omer had been a resident of North Carolina for the past twenty years and was of the Baptist faith, he was a veteran of the US Army proudly serving his country. Omer was a craftsman and beloved father and grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Thornton Lee Walters and his son in law Thomas James Sapp. Survivors include his son Omer Burnett Glass Jr II of Winston-Salem, NC; three daughters Mary Jearlean Glass Sapp of King, NC; Wendy Marie Glass of Washington, D.C. and Veronica Lynn Glass of Largo, Florida. Three Brothers Matthew “Wayne” Glass of King, N.C.; Danny Ray Glass and wife Angie of Thomasville, NC and Franklin Delanor Walters of Virginia, one sister Mary Ann Glass Quillian of Princeton, WV; his fiancé Donna Hayden of King, NC and two step children Jeremy and Jesse Hayden of King, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Jayson Plymale, Mark Plymale, Andrew Plymale, Skyla Clark, Nyla Barnes, Sparkle Barns and Le’veon Barnes. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluefield, WV where friends and relatives will be serving as pallbearers. Military graveside rites will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.The Glass family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 11:30 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
