Ollie Cecil, 99, of Rock, WV, passed Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Westwood Center in Bluefield, VA. 

Born May 23, 1925, in Rock, WV, he was a son of the late Charlie and Willie Cecil. Ollie was a lifelong resident of Mercer County. Ollie was a proud US Veteran, serving in the United States Navy. Ollie owned his own store on Windmill Gap and retired after 20 years of serving his community. He was also of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. 

In addition to his parents, Ollie was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Terry Cecil, and sisters, Myrtle Ball, Eddy Cecil, Elizabeth Overton, Diana Key, Mary Call, and Lois Gilbert. 

Those left to cherish Ollie's memory are his nephew, Thomas Gilbert, Sr., of Rock, WV, as well as a host of numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held, Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel, in Bluewell, WV, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor David Kirby officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call one hour prior to services, from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. 

Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Cecil family.
