Newton Leonard Lambert, Jr, 93 of
37 Riddle Drive, Anawalt, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, VA.
Born on May 8, 1929 in Maybeury, WV, he was the only son of Cora May Billips Lambert and Newton Leonard Lambert, Sr. He attended McDowell County Schools and was a retired Coal Miner for U.S. Steele Mining with40 years of Service. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had lived in the Leckie/Anawalt, WV area all his life. He loved doing carpentry and masonry work in his free time while his health permitted. He had a love for flower gardening and reading.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Louise Mitchem Lambert, sisters Sandra Watkins, Vivian Ball and Charlotte Arnold.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia(Carl) Workman of Anawalt, sons, David Lambert of Trinity, NC and Newton Lambert, III of Trinity, NC, a sister Ann Laverne Baldwin of Rural Hall, NC, Grandsons David (Marquise) Lambert of High Point, NC, Jonathan (Kaitlyn) Workman of Anawalt, WV, Great granddaughter, Cheyene Lambert of High Point, NC, Great grandsons, Gabe (Barracuda) Workman, of Bluefield & Brantley Workman of Anawalt.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11:30 p.m. with the Reverend Jimmy Sanson officiating. Family visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., friends may call from 10:30a.m. up until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV with Timothy Corner, Ryan Skipper, Ricky Brown, Mark Scott serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Workman and David Lambert.
