Nellie Zoe Perdue

Nellie Zoe Skeen Perdue, 96, of Airport Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Stonrise Princeton.

Born August 20, 1926 in Stone, Ky to George and Hassie Lambert Skeen. Nellie worked in Accounting for Koppers Coal Company, Bluefield Supply Company, Dixie Appliance and retired from Bluefield Distributing. Nell was an excellent cook and baker and delighted in searching for new recipes to prepare for her family and friends. She was a member of Eastern Star-Northfork Chapter and member of Brushfork United Methodist. She enjoyed many years camping at Claytor Lake.

She was preceded in death by husband William A. "Bud" Perdue; brothers George Samuel Skeen and Danny Ray Skeen; stepsons, Rusty Perdue and Ricky Perdue; and the father of her two children, Johnny Anderson. She was a graduate of Northfork High School class of 1944 and attended Concord College.

Survived by daughter, Zoe Ann Merkle-Virginia Beach; son, Dr. J. Craig Anderson-Boca Raton, FL; grandson, Jeremy Merkle and companion, Nicholle Wacker; great granddaughters, Ava Zoe Merkle and Katie Rogers; sister, Mollie Jo Comer; niece Rama Dawn Faulkner and nephew, Todd Comer; and special great nephew, Craig Cardwell.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. J. Jay VanReenen officiating. Burial will follow.
