Nellie Marie Kosmos Hubinak was the first of ten children born to Bascum and Ollie Finley Morgan on March 26, 1933. As the oldest, Marie spent her early years helping rear her nine brothers and sisters. She was a woman of strong character and fiercely independent. Marie spent her entire life caring for others. She married Nick (Jimmy) Kosmos and their first child, Bonnie Lou, was born while Jimmy was serving his country in the Korean War. Once he returned home, they were blessed with 5 additional children.
Marie is survived by her children, Bonnie Craft of Gaston, SC, Michael Kosmos of Conway, SC, David (Rhonda) Kosmos of Gaston, SC, Janet Marlene (Carl) Dalton, of Lexington, SC, Joann Kosmos of Oceana, WV, adopted daughter, Christy (Pedro) Soloranzo of Pampa, TX; four siblings, David (Virginia) Morgan of Port Orange, FL, Elmer (Sharon) Morgan of Briston, TN, Dorothy Brickey of West Columbia, SC, Mary (Randall) Brickey of Mt. Hope, WV; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
After the passing of Nick (Jimmy) Kosmos, Marie was blessed to marry Michael (Mike) Hubinak. With this marriage additional children were added to their family: Janie Burke, Andrea Christian, Theresa Knotts, and Michael Hubinak, Jr.
Marie was pre-deceased by husbands Nick (Jimmy) Kosmos and Michael (Mike) Hubinak, son Donald Kosmos, stepdaughter, Janie Burke; parents Bascum and Ollie Morgan: sisters, Rosie Harmon, Shirley Lewno, Lucille Soto; and brothers, Bascum Leslie Morgan and Jackie Lee Morgan.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV, with Rev. Randall Brickey officiating.
