Necy Arleen Mitchem

Necy Arlean Mitchem, 94, of Bluewell, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at McDowell Healthcare Center with her family by her side. 

Born on October 16, 1929 in Beartown, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Cloah Annie Mitchem. She loved children and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed making different types of crafts throughout her entire life. She worked for many years in the Hardware Dept at Warden's Market in Bluewell. 

She was the last surviving child of her family of twelve. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Nichols, Velvie White, Vivian Reed, Vallie Combs, Faye Reed, and Ivy Mills; and her brothers, Noble Mitchem, Cobert Mitchem, Harry Mitchem, Cledis Mitchem who was her twin, and Blonnie Mitchem.

She has many nieces and nephews who survive her. 

The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care provided at McDowell Healthcare Center. A special thank you to Emily, Tasha, Linda, Brittany and Amanda for taking care of our aunt Necy and sittting with her. 

Her wishes were to be cremated. A family memorial will be held at the old home place at a later date.
