Nancy Gail Copley

Nancy Gail Copley, 76 of Pinnacle View Road, Bluewell, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born on March 11, 1943 in Iaeger, WV, to the late David and Virginia England Steele.  She had been a resident of Bluewell, WV since 1966 and was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV.  Nancy enjoyed being surrounded by her family, baking and talking on the phone with her sisters, sons and family. 

She married John Russell Copley on July 1, 1962.  On July 1, 2019, they celebrated their 57^th wedding anniversary. 

In addition, to her parents, David and Virginia Steele, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Harold and Ruth Powell Copley, a grandson, Philip John Copley, a sister, Linda Lee Steele, a sister-in-law, Mary “Poosie” Copley and a brother-in-law, Michael “Fred” Copley.   

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, John Russell Copley, and sons, David Harold and wife, Debbie Copley of Bluefield, WV, Russell Todd and wife, Sue Copley of Rural Retreat, Va, Timothy Allen and wife, Tracey Copley of Bluefield, WV and Patrick Wayne and wife, Rebecca Copley of Bluefield, WV; sisters, Allilee Trent of Iaeger, WV and June Steele of Rutherfordton, NC; brothers-in-law, Ron Copley of Manassas, Va, Don and wife, Angie Copley of Woodbridge, Va, Tom and wife, Minnie Copley of Inez, Ky; sisters-in-law, Margaret Carmella, East Brunswick, NJ, Sue Bowen of Rural Hall, NC, and Barbara and husband, Marion Deskins of Iaeger, WV. 

Her grandchildren are Christopher David and wife, Loucinda Copley, Heath Allen Copley, Casey Aaron and wife, Amanda Copley, Rachel Hope Copley, Zachary Todd Copley and companion, Brandon Anderson, Cody Wayne Copley, Kristin Paige Copley and companion, Tanner Beggs, Tyler Allen Copley, Adam Tanner Copley and Amanda and husband, Andrew Shrader. 

Her great grandchildren are Makiyah Philip Robinson, Cynthia Breann Copley, Sofia Ann Copley, Asher-John Dean Copley, Cayden Alexander Norris, Michael Gilbert, Chase Gilbert and Ethan Gilbert.

In addition to her family, she had a special niece, Angie Reynolds and a special friend, Ginger Copley. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 1PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Pastor Jim Milam officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV where Christopher Copley, Heath Copley, Casey Copley, Zachary Copley, Cody Copley, Tyler Copley, Adam Copley and Michael Gilbert will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Tuesday, prior to services, from 10AM to 1PM at the funeral home.
