Nancy Joyce Baker

Nancy Joyce Baker, 68, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at her home.  Born November 23, 1952 in Mullens, WV, she was a daughter of the late James Gillespie and Phyllis Tennant Gillespie. She was a graduate of Concord College, a School Teacher for McDowell County Public Schools for 38 years, member of the Teachers Association, and a member of the Princeton Church of God.

In addition to her father, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother Timothy Gillespie.

Those left to cherish Nancy’s memory are her husband, Calvin C. Baker of the home; step-daughter, Alisa Christian and husband, Brian of Elkin, NC; brother, Jerry Gillespie of Rainelle, WV; sister, Betty Gillespie of Georgia; and three step-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery in Dublin, VA with Bishop Preston Mathena officiating.
