Misti Marie Hanshaw

Misti Marie Hanshaw (Cowan), a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 15, 2024, at the age of 45. Born on December 29, 1978, Misti's life was a testament to her unwavering love for her family and community.

Surviving Misti are her loving husband, Steven Cowan; their cherished daughters, Angel Hanshaw, Sabrina Hanshaw, and Netty Cowan. Her legacy lives on through her children, who were the center of her universe.

Misti is also survived by her siblings: Cynthia Cleary (Jason), Regina Johnson (Gary), William Mitchem, Kevin Mitchem (Brittany), Amanda Graham (Joe), Kimberly Jennings (Troy Goins Jr.), and Robyn Martin (Alan Brooks); as well as a host of nieces and nephews who adored her.

A dear friend, Jessica Fowler, was also an integral part of Misti's life, sharing countless memories and laughter.

Misti's impact on those around her was profound. Her selflessness, kindness, and generosity inspired countless individuals. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and her devotion to her community was unwavering.

Misti's memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Her love, laughter, and legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who were blessed to have known her.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Debbie Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Simpson Family Cemtery in Algoma with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 at the funeral home.
