Minnie Tessa

Minnie Shrader Tessa, 66, of Bluefield, WV, passed Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital.

Born June 20, 1957, in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Edward “Shog” and Helena Howard Shrader. Minnie was retired from Mercer County Board of Education. She was a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by a son, Michael Reed Tessa Jr., brothers, Jackie and Benny Shrader, sister, Deborah Shrader, and her father and mother in-law, Steven and Edna Tessa.

Those left to cherish Minnie’s memory are her husband of 52 years, Michael “Mike” Tessa Sr., of the home; daughter, Tonya Tessa of Bluefield, WV; sister, Dolly Shrader of Bluefield, WV; sisters and brothers in-law and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Rev. David Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Joe Hale, Jacob Dillon, Brian Nunn, Jerry Coburn, Ashton Hayes, Jamie Vance, Dylan Maniscalco, and Terry Coburn serving as pallbearers.

A visitation will be held an hour prior to services from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
