Maxine Carter Thompson

Maxine Carter Thompson, 94, of Bluefield, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.

Born on January 30, 1928, in Bluefield, WV she was a daughter of the late John and Nortie Lambert Carter. Maxine was a graduate of Beaver High School and a member of the Brushfork United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ual J. Thompson, granddaughter, Tara Thompson, and brother Bob Carter.

Those left to cherish Maxine’s memory are her son, Richard Eual Thompson and wife Pamela Bryant Thompson of Bluefield, WV; daughter, Pamela Thompson White of Falls Mills, VA; 5 grandchildren, Sherri Sparks, Jenny Thompson, Stephanie McKinney, Angela Groseclose, and Robin Thompson; 10 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Christopher, Laken, Devonte, Brianna, Kaeden, Teddi, McKayla, and Christian; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Richard Moeller officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice at 545 Airport Rd Suite 201, Bluefield, WV 24701.
