Mary Elizabeth Tibbs

Mary Elizabeth Waters Tibbs, 90, of Bluefield, WV, passed Wednesday, January 8, 2024, at Bluestone Health and Rehab in Bluefield, WV. 

Born February 20, 1934, in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Green W. and Mary E. Ernest Waters. Mary was a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a retired LPN. She was a member of East End Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bill Tibbs, daughter, Joanna Black, and a grandson, Joshua Hunter Tibbs. 

Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her son, Mickey Tibbs and ex-wife Tonia of Bluefield, WV, grandchildren, Jessica Black and her children, Landon and Arlo Black, of Daytona Beach, FL, Samatha Black of FL, and Brittani Nicole Tibbs and her children, Huntleigh Brynn and Hunter J. Atwood, of Top Sail Island, NC; and siters, Alice Gates of Cross Lanes, WV.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Chad Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call one hour prior to services, from 12:00-1:00 PM, at the funeral home.
