Mary Jane Miller

Mary Jane Miller, 85, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Tazewell Community Hospital.

Born on September 6, 1937 in Belfrey, KY, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Evelyn Hinchee Layne. She had been a longtime resident of Mercer County and was a member of Deliverance Temple.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.T. Miller, Jr.; a daughter, Lisa Miller; sisters, Joanne Lawson and Peggy (Bob) Poindexter; brother, Donald Layne; a sisters in law, Rita Helmandollar, Ellen (Jim) Huffman; a brother in law, Archie Huffman; and her father and mother in law, Troy and Hazel Miller. 

Survivors include her son, Dean (Tina) Miller, of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren Austin (Kaleigh) Miller of Princeton and Tanner (Maeley) Miller of Mooresville, NC; brothers, Charles (Rosa) Layne of Charlotte, NC, Bob (June) Layne of Chicago, IL; sisters in law, Billie Huffman and Diane Layne; and brothers in law, Willis Helmandollar, Clarence Dal Lawson; her best friend, Joyce Harrison; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 8:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. David Kirby officiating. Private burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Roger, Dean and Dale Goins will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services on Monday, from 6-8PM, at the funeral home.
