Mary Lucy Franklin, 97, of Bluefield, VA, was called to her Heavenly Home on February 19, 2022 with her family surrounding her at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg, VA.
Born December 16, 1924, in Coaldale, WV, she was one of 12 daughters born to the late Joseph and Nellie Miller Call. She had been a resident of Bluefield, VA for many years and a previous resident of Jenkinjones, WV, a member of Christ First United Methodist Church, and a dedicated homemaker. To know her was to love her. With a pure heart and a gentle soul, Mary was a beloved neighbor and friend to many, many special people in Jenkinjones, WV and Abbs Valley, VA. With precious memories, she will live in our hearts forever.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by husbands, Troy “Beano” Franklin and Clarence “Gratt” Franklin; 11 sisters, Betty Blevins, Bertha Stoyko, Christine Spinella, Dolly Stoyko, Dorothy Dawson, Elsie Miller, Grace Bevins, Frances Miller, Louise Casey, Ollie Hill and Viola Mabe; and one step-daughter, Patricia Shanahan; and two great-grandchildren.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory is her daughter, Susan Franklin Webb-Presley; 3 grandchildren, Marty Webb and Jenny, Timothy Webb and Emily, and Heather Webb, all of Spotsylvania, VA; step-children, Kenneth Franklin of Pocahontas, VA, Max Franklin and Von of Appomattox, VA, and Yvonne Blevins of Newark, DE; 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; her goddaughter, Pam Cunningham Conley and her mother Dorothy Miller Cunningham; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; the loving extended Webb and Presley families and her precious life-long friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Rita Pauley officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum with Marty Webb, Timothy Webb, Anthony Stoyko, Joe Stoyko, Terry Roatsey, and Danny Wolford will be serving as pallbearers. Jack Stoyko, Pete Stoyko, Donnie Bevins, Larry Roatsey and Glen “Woody” Creasy will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
