Mary Elizabeth Rose

Mary Elizabeth Belcher Rose, 79, of Tobias Road, Welch, WV, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at her home with her family surrounding her.

Born on May 20, 1943, in Welch, WV, she was a daughter of the late William and Lillian Belcher. She had been a lifelong resident of Welch and was a member of Elkhorn Old Regular Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Rose; brother, William Franklin Belcher and wife Ruth; brother-in-law, Tommy Dalton; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Survivors include her son, James Owen Rose; stepson, Johnny Rose; brothers, Hersie J. Belcher and wife Judy and Clarence E. Belcher and wife Connie; sister, Wanda L. Dalton; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary will always be remembered for her sweet spirit and love for the Lord.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Elkhorn Old Regular Baptist Church on Belcher Mountain in Welch with Elder Roger Walker and Brother Denny Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at the Belcher Cemetery on Belcher Mountain in Welch, WV, where nephews will serve as pallbearers. 

Friends may call prior to services on Sunday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Elkhorn Old Regular Baptist Church.
