Mary Davis

Mary “Alene” Davis from Anawalt, WV passed away February 16, 2020.

Daughter of Harvey Martin Cochran and Ocie Lou Hubbard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sweetheart James Edward Davis, her son Martin Edward Davis, two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by four daughters Dora (Ernest) Yates, Mary (Joseph) Smith, Diana (Nelson) Walter of Pennsylvania, Sharon (Mark) Webb of North Carolina. She has six grandchildren, Deah Lobach, Candace (Frank) Cabanas, Leon (Lindsay) Yates, Joel (Rachel) Smith of Pennsylvania, Bryce (Abby) Walter of South Carolina and Amandolin Webb of North Carolina, along with eleven great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers. She was a lifelong Baptist and member of Longpoint Missionary Baptist Church in Anawalt.

Alene was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed tending to her garden and her flowers. She was an amazing cook noted for her German chocolate cake, rhubarb custard pie and chicken and dumplings.

Funeral service will he held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10:30 am at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia with Rev. David Davis officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia where friends and relatives will be serving as pallbearers. 

The Davis family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia.
