BLUEWELL- In loving memory of Mary Frances “Finley” Cox, born November 11, 1939.   She closed her eyes here and has opened them in her Heavenly home on October 16th, 2017.    She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Dempsey Cox and her son, Arthur Kenneth Cox both of Bluewell, WV.  Her Father and Mother, Fred and Ruth Finley of Pineville, WV.  Father and Mother in Law, Arthur and Diana Cox of Wytheville, VA. Her two sisters and very best friends, Charlotte Shirley of Princeton, WV and Alma Bishop of Pineville, WV.  And her precious brother, Leonard Finley of Wilcoe, WV.   Left to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas Franklin Cox and wife Ava of McKeesport, PA. Two daughters, Linda Kaye Meade and husband Keith of Princeton, WV and Karen Faye Foster and husband Ron of Bluewell, WV.  Also, her adopted in heart children, Dan and Donna Sloane of Lashmeet, WV.  They lovingly accepted and were faithful to that gift in every way.   Mary left behind 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Her Sister in law, Phyllis Finley of Wilcoe, WV.   Three brothers, Harold Finley and wife Wanda of Princeton, WV.   Clinton Finley and wife Linda of Ludowici, GA. and J.C. Finley and wife Karen of Princeton, WV. as well as, a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles, all of whom she loved dearly. She had 4 very dear friends the family would like to mention. These ladies were faithful friends for many years and mom loved them so very much. They are: Ms. Helen Myers of Princeton, WV.  Ms. Patty Meade of Princeton WV.  Mrs. Susie Novell of Princeton, WV and her “run the roads and yard sale buddy” Ms. Evelyn Davis of Bluewell, WV. We love you all for your faithfulness to our mother.   Mary Frances was known as a Prayer Warrior to all and any that needed her and for her quick wit and humor, but mostly for her love for God and playing the piano in his house.  She was a member of the SouthView Church located on RT 20 in Mercer County, WV, where the Cox family’s, dear and precious friends,  Jerry and Susie Novell were her Pastor.  She loved her church family more than they will ever know. Sickness and injuries of the last few years had kept her from attendance and fellowship, but her heart was never far from them.  Their many visits, daily phone calls and cards meant so very much to her and were greatly appreciated by her family.   Services will be conducted simultaneously on Saturday, October 21st, 2017.  Viewing by immediate family will be from 11:00  to 12:00 P.M. with family and friends calling on the family from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Pastor Jerry Novell, Rev.
