Mary Ann Bishop, 74, of Bluefield, WV passed Monday, January 20, 2025, at Valley Hospice Care in Stuebenville, OH. Born August 9, 1950, in Virginia Beach, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Mildred Cleveland. She was a resident of the Glenwood community for the majority of her life, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bluewell, where she enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School for many years. Mary also shared her love of fishing with others by hosting local catfish tournaments for years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was loved by many. She will always be remembered for her love of family, her kind spirit and generosity.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather Bill Wyatt, and sisters Judy Cleveland, Mildred "Jeannie" York and Karen Culpepper.
Those left to cherish her memory include her former husband, Willis Bishop of Glenwood, WV, her son Gene Bishop and fiancé Cindy Piercy of Glenwood, daughter Anita Hagey and husband Dean of Fort Mill, SC, son Bobby Bishop and wife Theresa of Glenwood, WV, her twin sister Margaret Spears of Weirton, WV, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Valley Hospice North for providing loving and profession care to Mary in her final days.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 3 PM at First Baptist Church of Bluewell with Pastor Jim Milam officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 2-3 PM.
