Violet Mary Baldwin, 79, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2020, Mansfield, TX.
Violet was born June 1, 1940 in Switchback, WV, to James and Mary Crockett. She married Carl Baldwin, Sr. and celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death. They had lived mostly in the Bluefield area, and moved to TX in 2015 to be near their son and his family. Violet and Carl enjoyed visiting and singing with the residents in nursing homes in Bluefield and Princeton. They also ministered in various churches in the area. Violet loved to cook and was known for having delicious recipes. When she made food, there was more than enough for everyone. Violet loved God and her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her three brothers Wesley, Leon, and Leonard Crockett.
Survivors: Son, Carl Baldwin, Jr and wife Anne of Mansfield, TX; daughter, Susan Baldwin of Bluefield, WV; brother, Donald Crockett of Dunkirk, NY; sister, Joyce Fuller of Canandaigua, NY; grandchildren, Elizabeth McGraw of Princeton, WV; Grant and Aaron Baldwin of Mansfield, TX; great-grandchild, Violet McGraw of Princeton, WV; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Allen Asbury and Rev. Jason West officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
