Martha Johnson Williams, widow of Thomas Theodore (Ted) Williams, Sr., of Abbs Valley departed this life April 24, 2017. She was born August 27, 1922, in Jenkinjones, West Virginia, and was the lone survivor of the eight children of Bertie and Willie Johnson. She is survived by son Thomas T. (Sonny) Williams, Jr. and wife Patricia of Richmond, VA. daughter Anna Frances Hasty of Bluefield, Va., son Stephen T. Williams, and wife Diane, of North Tazewell, VA. Grandchildren Tracy Hasty of Knoxville, TN, Donna Gattuso of Richmond, VA, Paula Williams of Richmond, VA, Travis Williams and companion Shelley Davis and Daughter Beth of North Tazewell, VA, Jason Williams and wife Nicole of Carterville, Il, Zoe Hasty, widow of grand son Bryan Hasty, great grand children Matthew Hasty and wife Amy of Tacoma WA, Jessica Hasty Lin and husband Alvin of Bloomington, Indiana, Justin, Maddox and Savannah Williams of Carterville. IL, and great great grandson David Lin. She was a member of the Christ First United Methodist Church, Boissevain, VA. and of the Methodist Women’s Christian Society. She was a member and Past Matron of Princess Pocahontas Order of the Eastern Star, (now affiliated with Bluefield Chapter 102 Order of the Eastern Star) for over 64 years. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Gus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA with nephews serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8PM at the funeral home. There will be an Eastern Star Service at 7:30PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either: the Christ First United Methodist Church, (Box 159, Boissevain, VA), the Bluefield Chapter 102 Order of the Eastern Star, or a charity of your choice.
