Marline Ellison Basham, 74, of Bluefield WV, passed away on January 23rd, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital after battling a short illness.
Marline was born in Bluefield, WV on November 26, 1948, to Chalk Ellison and Hazel Pizzini. She attended Montcalm Middle School and High School. Marline is preceded in death by her mother Hazel Pizzini, her father Chalk Ellison and her daughter Tena Havens.
Marline worked as a Home Health Care Nurse for many years. She loved spending time with family, yard selling, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.” Marline is survived by her son Randy and his wife Sarah Basham of Nashville Tennessee, her sister Kathy and her husband Waleed Mohammed of Kuwait, her grandchildren: Robert (Budgee) Havens, Danielle Havens, Haley Cole, Christian Basham and Makayla Andrews, great grandchildren: Ethan and Tucker Havens, nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 29th, 2022, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Visitation for close family will be at 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield Virginia where Robert Havens III, Ralph Munsey Jr., Mark Allen White, Shane Carter, Ryan Wallace and David White will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Eric Smith and Robert Haven Sr.
