Margaret Ann Jones

Margaret Ann Jones, 82, of Pageton WV, passed away on Sunday May 28th, 2017 at Glenwood Nursing Home. Margaret was born on December 11, 1934 in Maybeury, West Virginia to Charity and Albert Salsgiver.  After the passing of her mother when she was only three, she was raised by her stepmother, Bessie Salsgiver Walker. Margaret married Roy Jones Sr. and had lived the last 51 years in Pageton.  She was preceded in death by him on October 23, 2000. She worked at Mount View Middle and Kimball Elementary Schools  and the McDowell Nursing & Rehab Center in Gary WV where she made numerous friends and was referred to as “Granny”. Margaret was a member of Leckie Pentecostal Holiness Church where she enjoyed many years of service. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Darlene Worrell (John) of Frederick MD, and sons, Roy Lee Jones Jr. (Tammy) of Princeton WV, Salvatore Cardello (Selenda) of Gales Ferry CT,  Butch Bryant (Rita) of Statesville NC, and Joseph Cardello (Senga) of Florida.  She leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren with one on the way and 1 great-great grandchild. Brother-in law Henry Jones of Swansboro NC and numerous nieces and nephews Margaret was the last remaining member of her immediate family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands,  Roy Lee Jones Sr. & Mario Cardello, her brother Herman Salsgiver, and twin sisters, Mary Parks Dollinger and Betty Walters. Brother-in law, Wiley Jones and sister in law Bessie Presley. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Jimmy Sanson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.   Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
