Madonna Elaine Shumate, 57, of Ruffner Street, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on November 3, 1963 in Columbus, OH, she was a daughter of the late Emil G. and Zelma Byrd Lawless. She had been a resident of Bluefield for 39 years and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother James (Tony) Lawless. Survivors include, husband Michael Shumate of the home; 3 daughters, Rebecca Lynn Blankenship (Harry T. Hanley), Deborah Ann Crandall, Margaret Sue Shumate; son, SGT Estel Michael (Destinee) Shumate, US ARMY, special niece and nephew, Candace and Eric Lawless; grandchildren, Cassidee and Duece Blankenship, Zeke Hanley, Jackson Crandall, Michaelyn Shumate, Teighaun, Tinzleigh, Easton, Taityn Shumate; brothers Chris (Wendy) Lawless and Sean (Patsy) Lawless; In-laws, Richard Shumate, Barbara Polatz, and Patsy Smith; many nieces and nephews, special cousins and aunts. Also, the family wishes to thank her extended family at Fresenius Dialysis Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Russ Lambert officiating. Friends my call from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Estel Shumate, Eric Lawless, Harry T. Hanley, Duece Blankenship, Jacob Lawless, Anthony Shumate, Brian Shumate and Marcus Patterson serving as pallbearers. Jackson Crandall, Jayce Hanley and Chance Amaker will serve as honorary pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 AM.
