Mack Chester Knuckles

Mack Chester Knuckles, 82, of Switchback, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Westwood Center in Bluefield, VA. Born on September 24, 1934 in McDowell County, he was a son of the late Dewey and Mary Opal Cochran Knuckles. He had been a resident of McDowell County for most of his life and was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy Day Knuckles; children, Gary & Joseph Knuckles, and Tammy Dyess; stepchildren, Kathy Batt, Debbie Shepard, and Billy Christian; siblings, Irene Moore, Dewey Knuckles, Bobby Knuckles, Billy Knuckles, Bonnie Porterfield, and Kenneth Knuckles; and former companion, Brenda Woods. Survivors include: Children:              Cynthia Loesser, Ricky Knuckles, Randy Knuckles, Kim Knuckles, Tim Knuckles, Sheri Mueller, Tina Knuckles Step-children:   Barbara Walters, Russell Christian, Betty Dunn, Patty Dixon, and Vicki Alexander Siblings:                Agnes Green, Sylvia Goodson, Raymond Knuckles, Freda Smith, Katherine Young Granddaughter and caregiver, Chassity House, who provided tender loving care He was also a beloved pawpaw to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also survived by friend, Ann Milam, and a host of nieces, nephews. He was a friend to many. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Donald Williams, of the Carswell Community Church officiating.
