On February 9th, 2022, at the age of 92, Macil Antia Quillian slipped away peacefully at her home of 60 years to join her beloved husband Randolph in heaven. Macil was born September 1st, 1929, in McComas, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Ed and Sylvia Lusk Gillenwater. Macil grew up in the coal mining camp of McComas, WV alongside her brothers and sisters, which includes the late Kenneth Gillenwater, Norma Cook, Dorothy Surface, and they leave behind their loving brother W.D. Gillenwater and his wife Nancy of Glenwood, WV. Macil loved her brothers and sisters dearly and they would visit each other as frequently as possible. In 1949 Macil married a handsome blue-eyed man, Randolph Quillian. Together they had 6 children: Butch and Diane Quillian of Middlesboro, KY, Millard and Kathy Quillian of Sarasota, FL, the late Timothy Quillian of Montcalm, WV survived by his wife Diane, Leeta and the late Frank Collins, of Montcalm WV, the late Donna Quillian of Montcalm, WV, and Christy and Doug Odham of Pittsburgh, PA. Macil was the maw maw to 22 grandkids and 20 great grandkids. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Macil made a home for her family. She was home. The place where anyone could go when they needed a home cooked meal, a warm place to sleep, or a shoulder to cry on. She was dependable. When you think of her there is a song that comes to mind, "country roads take me home". Not only because Macil was a lifelong West Virginian but because she was a cornerstone and home to so many that loved her. Macil will be missed but her love will thrive and carry on through every soul blessed to passed through the doors that she called home.
A special thanks to Leeta Collins and Casey Williams for providing loving care for our mom over the last several years.
