Lucille Riddle

June 7, 1922 — July 22, 2017

               May your right hand always be stretched out for giving and friendship and never in want. --An Irish Blessing     Lucille Bryant Riddle, age 95, of Bluewell, died peacefully on July 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born June 7, 1922 near Montcalm, the daughter of Oliver Taylor and Martha Scott Taylor.        In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Bernard Lee Bryant, her second husband Garney H. Riddle, infant son Michael Bryant, loving sons Lonnie (Tuffy) Bryant, and James (Jim) Bryant; brothers, Howard Taylor, Edward Taylor, Lewis Taylor, Roscoe Taylor, Nelson Taylor, and Bobby Perkins; sisters, Edna Sprinkle, Nora Walker, Kathleen Poff, Janice Tolbert, and Opal Case.        Lucille loved to cook and share recipes with friends and family.  Always the gracious hostess, visitors and family enjoyed her homemade cakes, pies, and home cooked meals. She loved her large family and held a close knit relationship with her siblings and family members throughout her life.        In 1941 she married her soul mate, Bernard Lee Bryant of Montcalm and together they raised four children.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.  She was also a caregiver to several friends at the end of their lives.        After the death of her first husband, she married Garney Riddle of Bramwell where they made their home.  They later moved to Bluewell and shared many wonderful years of companionship before his death.        Lucille’s front porch was her happy place.  Anyone who drove by on a warm day would find her there enjoying life with family, friends, and neighbors. She always enjoyed visitors and welcomed them to her home.        Lucille was a member of Bluewell United Methodist Church and Montcalm Methodist Church.  She was also a member of the Rebecca’s.        She is survived by devoted daughter, Linda Allen and husband Keith, loving son (her baby) Richard Bryant and loving daughter-in law Vanessa with whom she made her home along with Vanessa’s brother, Keith Allen Green, cherished daughter-in-law, Margaret Bryant, brother Harold Taylor of New Castle, Delaware, sisters-in-law Alice Taylor of New Castle Delaware and Eva Perkins of Princeton, brother-in-law Gale Case of Bland, grandchildren, Catherine Cisco and Pat of Cumming GA, Paula Tibbs and Chris of Bluewell, Heather Eldridge and Dave of Princeton, Michael Bryant and Jessica of Athens, and Jason Farmer and Missy of Bluewell. Great-grandchildren include Trey Cisco, Toby Cisco, Chase Tibbs, Lauryn Eldridge, McKenzie Eldridge, Addison Eldridge, Will Bryant and Jemma Bryant.   Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with friends and family serving as pallbearers.   Friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8PM at the funeral home.Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com
