Lonnie R. Gentry

Lonnie R. Gentry, 71, of Crumpler, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at his residence.                 Lonnie was born on October 11, 1945 in Crumpler, West Virginia to the late Roby S. Gentry and Daphna Reed Gentry.  He was a former coal miner and a member of Local Union #6033. He was of the Baptist faith.                 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers James H. Gentry and Freddie D. Gentry; One great granddaughter and one great grandson.                   Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years Joyce A. Jennings Gentry of the home; two sons Michael S. Gentry and wife Gloria of Princeton, West Virginia, Brian R. Gentry and Companion Stephanie Graham of Matoaka, West Virginia. Two daughters Kimberly Able and companion David Hickman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Laura D. Anderson of the home. One brother Leniel T. Gentry of Princeton, West Virginia; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.                 Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV with Pastors Earl Hill and Lonnie Mullins Sr. officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Paler in Bluefield, WV where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.                 The Gentry family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.                 Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com
