Lloyd Lipscomb Jr.

Lloyd Lipscomb, Jr. of Welch, WV suddenly departed this life on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Beckley ARH Hospital in Beckley, WV. He was born February 12, 1951 to the late Lloyd Lipscomb Sr. and Marion Odessa Smith-Lipscomb.

He was affectionately known by as “Stowood”, “Lip”, and even to some as “Red”. “Stowood” was well known in the community and never met a stranger. He attended McDowell County Schools, and wasa former coal miner.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 33 years, Nyoka McPeak of Langraff, WV; his step-mother Odessa Lipscomb of Maybeury, WV; son, Lloyd Rodney Lipscomb of Washington, DC; step-son, Mack McPeak of Welch, WV; granddaughter, Ronisha Lipscomb of Washington, DC; step-grandson, Joshua Mitchem; four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Angel (James) Graves and Dorothy Lipscomb, both of Princeton, WV, Agnes (Leon) Perkins of Clarksville, TN, Lenore Lipscomb of Albany, GA, Kimberly (Melvin) Stewart of Columbus, OH, Alphonso (Brenda) Lipscomb of Newport News, VA, Derek (Lisa) Lipscomb of Johnson City, TN, Roy Lipscomb and Lawrence Lipscomb, both of Washington, DC, four step-sisters, six step-brothers, along with his special step-sister Kimberly Winebush of Princeton, WV, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends, including special niece Megan Lipscomb of Michigan, special step-nieces Shermika Winebush, Skylar Rash and Kylie Harmon and a special nephew, Paul Winebush.

A homegoing service will be conducted on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, WV where friends and family will be serving as pallbearers and flower bearers.

Friends may call Thursday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.
