Lillian Lovelace Holt of Fincastle Lane, Bluefield, Virginia went to her heavenly home on August 25, 2018 at her residence.
Born December 30, 1926 in Leckie, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Lovelace and Myrtle Hampton Farley. She retired from Bluefield Supply Company and was the oldest member at Boyd’s Chapel United Methodist Church at Leckie, WV. Lillian was also a lifetime member of the Bluefield Order of Easter Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Holt; grandparents, John and Isabella Hampton who helped raise her; brothers, Wesley Lovelace, Sonny Lovelace, J.C. Lovelace, Paul Lovelace, Red Lovelace, and Bill Franklin who was like a brother; sisters, Bessie Lovelace, Jean Wilson, Alice Bailey, and Margaret Sudder; nephews, Rennie R. Wilson, Sr., and Wesley “Don” Wilson.
Those left to cherish Lillian’s memory are her daughter, Dr. Sheila Brooks of Bluefield, West Virginia; sisters, Hallie Jones and Nina Blankenship, both of Roanoke, Virginia, and Rose Franklin, who was like a sister; brother, Marshall Lovelace of New Jersey; nephew, McNeil Lovelace, who helped care for her; nieces, Marie Goforth of Brushfork, West Virginia, Tena Lovelace of Leckie, West Virginia, Donna Farris of Philippi, West Virginia, and Reda Wilson of Bluefield, West Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the family conducting the service. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia where Andy Blankenship, Melvin Jones, Sr., Melvin Jones, Jr., Kenny Franklin, Tommy Franklin, Grover Franklin, and Mike Franklin will serve at pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. The family is accepting online condolences at www.cravens-shires.com.
