Mrs. Letta Gay (Marshall) Baughman passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord at home in Montcalm, WV on October 17th, 2023 after a long illness surrounded my so many who loved her.
Born December 12th, 1944, in Keystone, WV, Letta was the daughter of the late James Heath Marshall and the late Ruby Gertrude (Burnette) Marshall.
Letta was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Eston Baughman. Also preceded in death by brothers Melvin Marshall, Curtis Marshall, Don Marshall and Doug Marshall and sisters Patty Nichols and Brenda Warden. Along with her siblings she was preceded by her grandson Abraham Joshua Dean.
Letta is survived by her daughters Jealene Dean (Charlie) of Montcalm, Robin Johnston (Shayne) of Cincinnati and her grandchildren, Kristy Janutolo (Brian), Kerri Crews (Jeremy) and Allyssa Johnston (fiancé Noah Day). As well she is survived by one brother, Tim Marshall, and one sister, Jodean Ratcliff. Letta was also blessed with 8 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Letta graduated from the West Virginia Academy in 1983 as a Corrections Officer and retired from the Mercer County Sherrif’s Department. Before her illness, she was an active member of the Montcalm Church of Christ.
Letta will be dearly missed by her family and all of those touched by her amazing soul and love of God.
Services will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in the Chapel on Friday, October 20th, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tim Roberts officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV with Brian Janutolo, Jeremy Crews, Braeden Crews, Noah Day, Camron Crews, Jared Janutolo, Logan Carver and Shayne Johnston serving as pallbearers.
The Baughman family also sends special thanks to Carla Janutolo and Amedisys Hospice for their kind services.
