Lena Ann Hamm

Lena Ann Hamm was born in Bluefield, WV, April 29, 1963, to her parents, Rita Marie Hampton and Stuart Alfred Hampton. Lena was a lifelong resident of Bluefield and a mother of four who worked many jobs as well as being an amazing mother. She retired from Flowers Baking Co. in 2006, where she oversaw and managed 14 of their bread stores.

She was a lover of many things including her family, she loved to fish, do art projects, she loved music, and to cook.

Lena is preceded in death by both parents, Rita and Stuart; her husband of 21 years, William “Ronnie” Hamm, son, Donald Dewayne Meadows, brother and dear friend, Thomas Alan Meadows, grandson Stephan “Tyler” Miller; and special friend Emmett Wayne Harry.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, daughter and best friend, Shanale Hamm and fiancé Kevin Lee Blankenship, daughter, Barbarier “Dink” Hamm, and son, Christopher Thomas Meadows; siblings, Cynthia Meadows, Linda “Sissy” Denton and husband Homer, Shelby “Poodle” Woodie, and Stuart “Punkin” Hampton and fiancé Rosie Barker. Lena also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Audrey and Blaine Foley, Thomas, David, and Grace Meadows, special grandson, Dewayne “Boog” Hamm, and special granddaughter, Emma “LoulaBelle” Foley. Several special nieces and nephews including Mary Mullins and Justin Woodie, who were always on her mind and in her heart. And one very special friend she thought the world of, Peggy “Lynn” Woodie.

Lena was a special person who had many that adored her.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Elgood, WV, where Dewayne Hamm, Blaine Foley, Justin Woodie, Jerry Woodie, Eugene King, and Michael Blankenship will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
