Larry Kent Taylor, Sr.

Larry Kent Taylor, Sr., age 76, of Montcalm, WV, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 28, 1942 in Thornhill, WV, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ella Gray Hodges Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joanna Taylor. He had worked as a coal miner and had most recently worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Gordon Lusk Company. He was a member of Deliverance Temple Church in Brushfork.

Great-granddaughters: Ella, Jordan, and Annabelle Carver who he dearly loved

Sisters: Scarlett Barker and husband Harold of Bluefield, WV
Mexie Horton and husband Carl of Bastian, VA

Brother: Anthony Taylor and wife Karla of Montcalm, WV

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Cecil Hash

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 4:00 PM at the Deliverance Temple Church in Brushfork with Pastors David Kirby and Omar Burns officiating. Burial will follow on Monday at 10:00 AM with a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers will be Arthur Carver, Sr., Arthur Carver, Jr., Travis Carver, Anthony Taylor, Larry Kent Taylor, III, and David Taylor. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 – 4:00 PM at the Deliverance Temple Church prior to the service. The family is accepting online condolences at www.cravens-shires.com.
