Larry B. Snider

Larry B. Snider, 81, of Rock, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Born on May 27, 1939 in Rock, WV, he was a son of the late Alford and Clara Rierson Snider. He had been a lifelong resident of Rock and was of the Methodist faith. He was retired from Mercer County Board of Education Transportation Department with 17 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a member of the VFW and of the Vietnam Veterans Group.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Godfrey Snider of the home; sons, Richard Snider of Rock, WV, and Steven Snider of Marion, VA; daughter, Twili Buchanan of Marion, VA; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Ruby Huff of Tampa, FL, Niece Donna (Steven) Prentice of FL; nephew Danny Shrewsbury of Tampa, FL; and a special friend, Debbie Asbury of Rock, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Wayne Snider officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.

The family asks that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines followed.
