Kenneth Ray Stamper, Sr.

Kenneth Ray Stamper, Sr., 76, of Bluefield, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2023. Ken was a devoted husband, honorable father, loving grandfather and decorated veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Ken was also a faithful member of Calvary Messenger Ministries. Ken was born to Marie Blackwell Stamper and Frank Stamper on September 17, 1946 in Bluefield, WV. He attended Bluefield High School and then went into the United States Army. Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda; two children, Kenneth Jr. and Linda (Duck); four grandchildren, Kenneth O., Jax, Jet, and Davannah; and two great-grandchildren, Maddie and Trenton; two sisters, Judy and Gail; and two special nieces, Tiffany and Jennifer. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Frank; mother, Marie; sisters, Shirley and Mary June; and brother, Jesse Stamper. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Pennington officiating. The Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct military honors. Burial will follow at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veteran’s Cemetery in Dunbar, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude in Ken’s honor. Craven’s Shires Funeral Home is serving the Stamper family.
