Kenneth Mitchem, 72, of Bramwell, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at his home.
Born on February 3, 1947 in Eckman, he was a son of the late Robert and Fern Mitchem. He had been a resident of Bramwell for a few years but was originally from McDowell County. He attended the Full Gospel Holiness Church. He was a retired police officer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Clemins; daughter, Betty Jean Mitchem; a son, Lacy Mullins, III, grandsons, Kenneth and Billy Osborne; and 7 brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Naoma Workman Mitchem; son, David Mullins and wife Karen; special grandson, Darrell and fiancé Victoria Cyrus; daughter, Jenny King and husband Jim; special granddaughters, Destiny Hubbard and husband Dalton, Lacie Burkett and husband Aaron; great-granddaughters, Hannah Stevenson and Braleigh Burkett; additional grandchildren, Michael Bane, Jasmine Mullins, Lucas Fisher, Grace Mullins, and Anna Mullins; great grandchildren, Trinity Osborne, Lada Osborne and Alyiah Osborne.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 16, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with his grandson, Dalton Hubbard, officiating. Burial will follow at the Rock House Cemetery in Kimball with friends and family serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
